Contribution Envelope

Raising money to support the band and guard is an unfortunate necessity,  Because the board takes this very seriously, we ask that you always attach the following to any contribution you make to the band.  This will enable us to insure that there is never any question about the purpose of the contribution, or the student who should receive credit for the contribution.

While the band and guard’s financial needs always eclipse the available funds, we cannot accept any contribution with out the attached form.

New Members 2016-2017

Time to start thinking about the new year in band.  The calendar has been updated with all you need to know about Band Camp and all the Band and Guard summer activities – check it out.

If you didn’t make it to the Welcome BBQ last week, the packets are included below.  It is all important information, so if you didn’t get one, now’s your chance.

Student Sponsership Letter

An important ingredient band fundraising is donations from your extended family.  Grandparents, aunts and uncles and family friends are eager to support their favorite band student, but sometimes they need a reminder.  This example letter can help you get started.

When you use this letter, please make sure that you (the band student) put your name at the top and bottom of the letter.  There’s nothing worse than getting a fundraising letter from a student who didn’t even bother to put their name on it.  I wouldn’t send any support in response to a letter from Student Name, so don’t make that mistake.

And take a little time to edit the letter so it fits the family member you’re sending it to.  If it is addressed to Grandma and Grandpa, make sure to include the appropriate salutation.  And you probably don’t need to tell Grandma and Grandpa your name – I’ll bet they know it very well.  Edit the letter so it makes sense to the family member who will receive it.

Finally, add personal touches.  Include a handwritten note at the bottom, and maybe a photograph.  Give them a personal taste of what makes band so great, and they’ll be happy to support you.

Any monies raised from the student support letter will be put toward your (the band student) fair share.

Director’s Address

Holy moley, it’s here. All the hard work the students and parents have put into making “Wild Things” come alive (pun intended) is about to pay off.

Make sure students are keeping on top of homework and class schedules. Marching band is an important part of high school… but let’s keep in mind that the top priority of high school is to learn!

That being said, it’s an exciting week to be in the Royal Alliance. Let’s go kick some butt!
