Time to start thinking about the new year in band. The calendar has been updated with all you need to know about Band Camp and all the Band and Guard summer activities – check it out.
If you didn’t make it to the Welcome BBQ last week, the packets are included below. It is all important information, so if you didn’t get one, now’s your chance.
Raising money to support the band and guard is an unfortunate necessity, Because the board takes this very seriously, we ask that you always attach the following to any contribution you make to the band. This will enable us to insure that there is never any question about the purpose of the contribution, or the student who should receive credit for the contribution.
While the band and guard’s financial needs always eclipse the available funds, we cannot accept any contribution with out the attached form.

Just a reminder…
- There is NO leadership camp tomorrow. Monday July 28 was the only day.
- Freshmen/new member camp will be Thursday AND Friday 8 am – 12 pm (July 31- August 1) for new members and SECTION LEADERS only. Bring plenty of water, a snack, sunscreen and wear light weight clothing and athletic shoes.
- Regular band camp is scheduled to start on Monday, August 4. Camp runs from 8 am – 5 pm. Bring plenty of water, snacks and lunch, sunscreen and wear light weight athletic clothes and shoes. Flip flops/sandals are not appropriate.
- Please remember to turn in your “TICKET TO PLAY” A.S.A.P. Forms can be picked up in the RHS office or printed from the Athletics tab on the RHS website here.

Here is the update on band camp schedule.
Leadership camp will be Monday from 9 am – 3 pm. This will be led by your drum majors and band president. There will NOT be leadership camp on Tuesday due to director interviews.
New member camp will be on Thursday and Friday from 8 am – 12 pm.
Missy Ferguson or I will be present to supervise the students.
All other band camp schedules and activities remain the same.
As you may have heard, our first choice during the first round of interviews turned down the job to take a position some place closer to where he lives.
The job was reposted by RUSD and we have applications that are being screened by the HR department at the district office. Once the posting closes tomorrow, interviews for these applicants will be scheduled.
I spoke to Dr. King yesterday. We are both looking forward to meeting with the new candidates and making the best choice for our band.
We are also working on plans to proceed with band camp as planned, even if the new director isn’t immediate available. The show music has been ordered and should arrive within the next 2 weeks. Uniforms have been cleaned and are ready for fittings. Tommy and Julian are at drum major camp as I write this. So, please rest assured, all is well.
